Field Testing Engineer
Sports Labs Ltd based in Livingston, Scotland is seeking a field-testing engineer to join its team of multi-disciplined field technicians.
Sports Labs Ltd carry out the certification/testing and evaluation of sports surfaces and systems for global governing bodies such as FIFA, World Rugby, IAAF, FIH and ITF. In the main these consist of artificial turf facilities. However, we own ProPitch which is concerned with evaluation and testing of natural sports surfaces and this will be a part of the new role with the Company.
This position is based at our new regional office in the Midland’s. You will work as part of the field-testing team, responsible for the certification of installations both domestically and internationally to relevant governing body standards.
The main duties will include but not are not limited to, working as part of the field-testing team at Sports Labs Ltd to ensure that the field testing in the geographical area identified is properly resourced and undertaken in a timely fashion and in full accordance with the relevant specification(s). Develop skills, knowledge and expertise in order to gain and maintain accredited status with FIFA and World Rugby. Maintain a small Laboratory, advanced testing equipment used for the certification of surfaces, check maintenance/calibration requirements of equipment and vehicles (all equipment used must comply with our ISO 17025 accreditation).
In order to carry out the role required you will be expected to travel. Most activities will be focused on England when possible however, travel across the UK and Ireland and Internationally to carry out field testing and other duties may be required.
You will be expected to work as part of the field-testing team, communicating with colleagues and clients, in person, in emails and over the phone.
As a Field testing engineer you will require to work flexible hours and to work away from home often. Due to requirements of the role weekend work is required occasionally.
A good level of computer literacy and a good level of ability using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel packages are required. Industry experience of testing artificial turf surfaces or working with natural turf as a Groundsman is desirable, also a qualification in Sports Engineering, Sports Sciences or Sports Turf would be of a benefit and is also desirable however this is not essential.
Candidates must be fully eligible at the time of application to live and work in the UK. Hold a valid Clean UK drives License and Passport.
