Backboards need to be designed to support player weight and include shatter-resistant materials, which we ensure is tested and safe.
BALLS
We offer certification for ball compliance and performance as well as quality-control and monitoring.
CLIMBING MATS
The Head Impact Criteria (HIC) is a severity index, measured with a head form to give a safety rating of impact absorption.
GUMSHIELDS (MOUTHGUARDS)
Under governing body testing specifications, we measure impact resistance, retention, water absorption and chemical testing.
ELECTRONIC TIMING SYSTEMS
Testing the accuracy of electronic timing systems and their consistency is important for regulating play time and overtime. Reliable information is vital for referees.
GOAL POST TESTING
Player welfare, safety and key performance criteria should be met when selecting a goal post. We test national and international standards under ISO 17025.

Safety hazards, materials, dimensions, impact angle, durability, alignment and toxicology are some of the tests we perform.
PLAYER TRACKING DEVICES
As the world’s first laboratory accredited to do so, we can help with Electronic Performance and Tracking Systems (EPTS) in football and Player Monitoring Devices (PMD) in rugby.
NETS
Sports Labs measures aperture, tensile strength performance, quality control and durability to ensure the net is the right fit for the ball used for each sport.
SHELTERS & BOOTHS
Load, dimensions, material, impact resistance, anchoring, stability, entrapment and capacity are some of the tests Sports Labs offer.
SEATING
Comfort, safety and durability are important when selecting stadium seating. At Sports Labs we provide tests to Interntional and governing body standards.
SCOREBOARDS
In some sports boards are automatically linked to scoring technology, so they must be clear and accurate. Some governing bodies have certification systems and test procedures to adhere to.
WHEELCHAIRS
We look at surface friction, impact and point loading. We can perform both desktop analysis and physical testing.
WHISTLES
Sports Labs use our anechoic chamber to test whistle volume, frequency, durability, chemical and batch quality control tests.
