Niall MacPhee, International Business Development Manager for Sports Labs Ltd, confirms that Sports Labs have been contracted to provided key stage inspection testing and final surface performance testing at Estadio Charrúa, a multi-use stadium in the Carrasco neighborhood of Montevideo, Uruguay which is used mostly for football and rugby union matches.
It is currently leased to the Uruguayan Rugby Union, governing body of that sport in the country, which uses it for its headquarters, its high-performance training center, and as the regular home of its national teams, most notably the senior men's team.
The stadium holds about 14,000 people. It was built in 1984 and then, in 2006 it was re-built. It is now undergoing a change to 3G with Greenfields turf, installed by Total Grass Uruguay.
