The Scottish Football Association has now issued the Pro Player 3G Survey which has been distributed around Scotland's pro players. With the PFA Scotland on board with the distribution of this through their club reps it will find all Pro players in the Scottish league. Stuart Lovell and Jack Ross have been important in making this happen and Stuart is confident of a return of 400-500 players out of the current Pro pool of circa 1250.
Aware of the response rate in the context of the FIFA/FIFPro study which returned 1,129 across 44 countries in 18 months this seems very light given extent/length of the study? On that basis the SFA study has the potential to be a bit of a landmark survey of pro players in one country given potential reach of circa 33 - 50% and the number of artificial pitches in stadiums in Scotland.
This could be a game changer in Scotland watch this space.
